Hi Bears!
My name is Bryce Clay, and I have been in education since 2016, when I graduated from the University of Nebraska at Kearney with a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education. In the last 9 years, I have taught both middle and high school in Alief ISD and here in Spring Branch. I am passionate about helping students achieve their goals, and I look forward to working with everyone in the Spring Branch Middle Community

Maya Franchi
7th Grade Assistant Principal
Hi Bears!
My name is Maya Franchi, and I’m proud to have been an educator since 2005. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Communications and a master’s degree in School Counseling. My entire educational journey has taken place in Spring Branch ISD, a district I truly love and am honored to serve.
I spent my first 10 years in education as a middle school teacher, followed by 4 years in the Multilingual Department. I'm now beginning my 7th year at Spring Branch Middle School as the 7th Grade Principal, and I couldn’t be more excited to continue working alongside our incredible staff, students, and families.
On a personal note, I’m a proud parent of two amazing kids. My son is a Memorial High School graduate and a product of SBISD. My daughter is currently a 5th grader at Meadow Wood Elementary. When I’m not at school, I enjoy traveling, working out, trying new vegetarian dishes, and spending quality time with my loved ones—including our beloved pets.
I’m looking forward to a fantastic year with our Bear community!

Andrea Houstoun
8th Grade Assistant Principal
My name is Andrea Houstoun and I have been in education since 2005. I began my career as a Kindergarten teacher and gradually moved my way through 3rd, 6th, 7th and 8th grade. I became an administrator in 2022, serving 8th grade students. Over the years I worked in districts North of Houston, but have recently become an inner looper, prompting my exciting new adventure with Spring Branch ISD.
On a personal note, I am a graduate of The Woodlands High School, obtained my bachelor's in interdisciplinary studies, and my master's in educational leadership, at Stephanie F. Austin State University. I am a girl from the Northeast, with roots to New Jersey and Pennsylvania. I love baseball, basenjis, and being with my family.
