Mrs. Megan Watson

7th Grade Assistant Principal

Hello SMBS.  I am Megan Watson and I am thrilled be a part of the Bear community.  After graduating from Baylor University with a BA in sociology, I  moved to Houston to begin my 23 year career in public education.  I served as an ELA Teacher and as the Head Coach for Cross Country & Track and Field in both Katy ISD and Cy-Fair ISD before coming to Spring Branch ISD.  The last 10 years were spent at Memorial Middle School as the 8th grade Team Leader for English Language Arts and as a Cross Country &Track and Field coach.  In 2014, I earned my masters in educational leadership at the University of St. Thomas and have continued my involvement with Track and Field at the National level, serving 9 times as a USA National Team Coach. My son Mayor is in first grade at Nottingham Elementary and my husband, Wayne Watson is a recording artist and serves as the worship leader for Chapelwood UMC.  Proud to be a BEAR.

Mrs. Maya Franchi

8th Grade Assistant Principal

Hi Bears!
My name is Maya Franchi and I have been in education since 2005. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and a Master’s Degree in School Counseling. My entire educational career has been at Spring Branch ISD. I taught middle school for 10 years, then went to the Multilingual Department for 4 years, and now I’m starting year 3 at SBMS as the 8th grade principal. I feel very lucky to have seen my group of 6th graders grow and flourish into 8th graders. It makes me super proud!

On a personal note, I have two children, one is a graduate from Memorial High School and currently attends Texas State University and I have a daughter in 1st grade at Meadow Wood Elementary. I love to travel, run and dance whenever I can.

Here is to a great school year!
