Mr. Steven Barry

6th Grade Assistant Principal

Mr. Barry has 25 years of experience in education as a teacher and assistant principal including a four year stint at SBMS as an 8th grade science teacher.

Mr. Barry holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture Science from Texas A&M University and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Saint Thomas.

 

Mrs. Kristie Avalos

 My name is Kristie Avalos and I have been in education since 2001. Most of my career has been spent in the elementary setting teaching 2nd grade and 4th grade. I have also served as an Interventionist K-5th, Special Education Resource teacher K-5th, and ESOL Consultant and as an Assistant Principal. I have been in administration since 2014 and I am very excited to be here at SBMS. I have 3 children who all attend SBISD schools. I love to travel, camp, scrapbook, cook and spend time with my family. GO BEARS!

Mrs. Carol Bucek

8th Grade Assistant Principal

Carol Bucek joined the Spring Branch Middle School faculty in the fall of 2011.  Mrs. Bucek's career as an educator includes experience as a campus instructional specialist for special education and classroom teacher.  Mrs. Bucek has dedicated the past twenty-eight years to education, and her experience includes elementary, middle, and high school with the majority of the time being spent at the middle school level.

Mrs. Bucek holds a Bachelors of Science in Special Education from University of Houston at Clear Lake and a Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University.

On a personal note, I am looking forward to another successful and exciting year at SBMS.
